Effect of Penile-Extender Device in Increasing Penile Size in Men with Shortened Penis: Preliminary Results
Objective:
The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a penile extender device in increasing the penile size of men with a shortened penis. Shortened penis length can result from various conditions, including Peyronie's disease, prostate surgery, or congenital abnormalities. The study sought to provide preliminary data on the potential of penile extenders as a non-surgical treatment option.
Method:
This preliminary study involved a sample of men who were diagnosed with a shortened penis. Participants were instructed to use a specific penile extender device for several hours each day, over a period of six months. The device applied a consistent, gentle traction to the penis, aiming to stimulate tissue growth and increase penile length.
Results:
The preliminary results indicated a statistically significant increase in penile length among the participants. The average length increase observed was about 2.3 cm (0.9 inches) in the flaccid state and 1.7 cm (0.7 inches) in the stretched (erect) state. Additionally, the study noted an improvement in patient satisfaction and self-esteem, with participants reporting a better quality of life post-treatment. No severe side effects were recorded, though some participants experienced mild discomfort during the initial phase of device use.
Conclusion:
The study concluded that penile extenders could be an effective and safe method for increasing penile size in men with a shortened penis. The device was well-tolerated and showed promise as a non-surgical option for penile lengthening. However, the authors noted that these were preliminary results, and further research with a larger sample size and longer follow-up was necessary to confirm the findings and establish the long-term efficacy and safety of penile extenders.
